Russian Roulette

For the Dutch awareness campaign on hepatitis C, Mainline developed a game called ‘Russian Roulette.’ A good tool for starting up conversations in different settings and fields of work. By making up their own questions, social workers can bring up sensitive issues in a light-hearted setting. The board game can be ordered via this website, starting September 20 2010.

Research

Mainline and the Schorer Foundation conducted research into MSM (Men who have Sex with Men), substance use and high-risk behaviour. Some of the research questions were: which drugs does this group use and how does their use affect the susceptibility to infectious diseases?

What we do?

Training, Expertise and Communication

The main objective of the Training, Expertise and Communication Department is to increase knowledge on harm reduction among professionals. This goal is to be obtained by gathering, analysing and processing knowledge and insights compiled by the Outreach and Information and the International Department. After the information that is obtained from working with substance users is analysed and processed, this knowledge is shared with the rest of the organisation in the form of specific methods and instruments for harm reduction. The Training, Expertise and Communication Department makes this knowledge accessible to policymakers and professionals via training courses and curricula. It also works on promoting knowledge, specific methods and instruments by sharing it with national networks, the media, government bodies and ministries, and via the Mainline website.
