How does Mainline run its international projects?
Projects are run in close cooperation with national / international partner organizations, often NGOs. Depending on the local situation and the type of support needed, Mainline staff might assist via common channels of communication (email, telephone) or travel to the respective location to train and provide support on the spot.
How does Mainline support its project partners?
Mainline provides several types of support:
- Assistance in developing harm reduction projects;
- Technical and medical training to improve the health and quality of life of (injecting) drug users;
- Organisational training, advice and support on management, programme development, networking and creating effective initiatives, teamwork, developing publication material, train the trainer sessions;
- Advice on administration and project control issues, support and training on donor identification, proposal and report writing, and financial administration.
Does Mainline directly support drug users? If so, how?
Mainline supports international organisations that support drug users. In most of our projects, peer support and a participatory approach has proved to be essential to achieve a sustainable improvement in the health situation of drug users. The projects in which Mainline participates are mostly on local level and in direct contact with drug users. In this field, Mainline has acquired its expertise and is able to provide professional input.
In which languages is this information available?
Most of the information and research material that Mainline has produced is only available in the Dutch language.
Brochures of our partners are in the Russian language.
When necessary and if the funds are available, information material can be translated and adapted to the local situation / needs.
