Departments
Mainline is a project organisation. The activities are divided into three departments which are facilitated by a support department.
Outreach and Information Material Development
The outreach workers in this department are in direct contact with substance users in the Netherlands. The department provides information and develops information material for substance users.
Training, Expertise and Communication
This department works with professionals on professional development, expertise development, lobbying, and the development and implementation of work methods. The department focuses its efforts on the Netherlands, Western Europe and other Western countries.
International
This department works on providing substance users with access to healthcare facilities, and ensuring the continuum of care for users around the world. The department primarily focuses on those parts of the world where poverty is an important driving factor behind drug-use related issues. In these areas, Mainline’s workers take measures that are aimed at limiting the damage caused by substance use. This work is always carried out in cooperation with local organisations. The main areas of attention include: HIV prevention among substance users and providing care for HIV infected users.
Support
The Support Department is responsible for the operational management, personnel and organisation, and finances (administration, financing, planning and control). The department also provides support in the field of ICT, facilities and communication. The department’s head also serves as the organisation’s substitute director.
